We would like to notify you of an upcoming release for MAX RM App Control. We will be releasing version 1.45 on May 28, 2015. Please see the updates listed below.
Dashboard Status Bar:
- Provide clean insights and notification summary to the user, bringing the most important and relevant information to the forefront. Previously, this type of data was spread across the application and the user didn’t have one single place to go to for troubleshooting.
- The status bar is available from every widget, providing an ever present awareness problems within the managed services.
- Users can click on the information and drill down into the problem presented for easy troubleshooting.
Service Event alert lifecycles:
- This enhancement will automatically resolve service event alerts once the service has recovered from the event and will provide updates to the service status throughout the life time of the event. Previously, these alerts would just collect and remain in the system until they were periodically cleaned.
- It will also correct a number of false positive service events where the status had been misinterpreted by the user.
MAX Mail Notification Enhancements:
- The messages for alerts from MAX Mail were enhanced to contain tips on what should be done to follow up with the alert. These alerts will now directly be related to their originating domain and appear linked to those domains in the Organization Tree widget.
- Outbound Spam alerts have improved wording that identifies the relevant domain and offers a link that pulls the user into the relevant MAX Mail screens.
- SMTP Temporary Delivery Failures have improved wording to make it clear when messages began queuing due to the temporary failure.
- A Force Sync toolbar option is now available from the Organization tab. User can click Force Sync from the org tree toolbar, where they will be prompted with a confirmation dialog saying: “Synchronizing your service data can be a long running operation. You will be unable to interact with the dashboard while this operation is running. Are you sure you wish to synchronize your service data?” Clicking okay starts the sync, and once completed, the UI will refresh the org tree.
- A Refresh Widget action has been added to each widget toolbar. This action will reinitialize the UI for the visible widget. This provides the User with a means of reloading a single App Control widget without the need to refresh the entire North Pane/South Pane.
Notifications Tab Improvements:
- A source column has been added, describing which service was responsible for generating the notification.
- There is now a combined date and time column with improved sorting capabilities
- Improvements to text wrapping behavior
Improved Error Handling:
- Synchronizing data message – App Control service data is retrieved directly from the cloud services that it supports and temporarily caches it in memory while the application is in use. In certain circumstances, App Control has not already loaded data into cache in background. This is a new message with a helpful explanation of what is happening in the background while App Control is performing this cache operation in the foreground.
- Stale Cache Data Interactions – Occasionally there is a change in service data that has not yet been detected by the background processes that drive App Control’s service data. With this new feature, App Control will detect a stale cache state, and force a synchronization of service data to renew the server side cache. The user is presented with a helpful explanation of what is happening while this new process is in progress.
- Graceful Timeout Handling – App Control service data is retrieved directly from the cloud services that it supports. This creates a dependency whereby if the cloud services App Control relies on are experiencing timeouts or underlying connection failures, App Control itself can appear to be experiencing timeouts. With this new feature, App Control will detect these sorts of timeout errors and present the user with a helpful explanation of what was encountered.
