Dashboard v5.31 – Systray App, CART for MAV, ESXi Scripts and more…

Overnight tonight we will be releasing Dashboard v5.31 to all territories so that it will be available before start of working day tomorrow, Thursday 20th December.

Together, with Agent v8.16.1 RC, Dashboard v5.31 supports our new self-service System Tray application for end-users; OSX Monitoring Agent Beta1; the inclusion of Linux Monitoing Agent into Client Daily/Weekly/Monthly Reports; scripts to monitor and control Virtual Machines on an ESXi Server; the integration of our Competitive Agent Removal Tool to automatically remove competitive Antivirus agents when deploying Managed Antivirus; and numerous other updates and defect fixes. Dashboard v5.31

System Tray Application

  • FEATURE: Self-service System Tray application for end users (requires Agent v8.16.1 RC or above)

OSX Monitoring Agent

  • FEATURE: Support for OSX Monitoring Agent

Linux Monitoring Agent

  • UPDATE: Support alert suppression (consecutive failures) in Bandwidth and Performance Monitoring Checks
  • UPDATE: Include Linux Servers in Bandwidth and Performance Monitoring History Report
  • UPDATE: Include Linux Servers in Client Daily, Weekly and Monthly Reports
  • UPDATE: Include Linux Servers in Asset Tracking Inventory Report
  • UPDATE: Include Linux Servers in Device Inventory Report
  • UPDATE: Include Linux Servers in Fault History Report
  • UPDATE: Include Linux Servers in Notes Report

VMWare ESXi Scripts

  • FEATURE: Script check to return inventory of Virtual Machines and resources used (optionally alerting if any VMs are not PoweredOn)
  • FEATURE: Script check to return resource utilisation of a Virtual Machine (optionally alerting if VM is not PoweredOn)
  • FEATURE: Automated Task to control Virtual Machine PoweredOn state and guest OS shutdown state

Please note that we recommend these scripts are only used in conjunction with Agent v8.16.1 RC or above.
In addition, they require Microsoft .Net 3.5 or higher and PowerCLI to be installed on the device from which the scripts will be executed.

Managed Antivirus

  • FEATURE: Automatically remove competitive Antivirus products when deploying Managed Antivirus (requires Agent v8.16.1 RC or above)
  • UPDATE: Automatically reboot device when deploying Managed Antivirus (requires Agent v8.16.1 RC or above)
  • UPDATE: Do not use Site Concentrator with Managed Antivirus on Laptops to ensure they can update definitions when out of office

Miscellaneous Updates and Bugfixes

  • UPDATE: Include pending Managed Antivirus and Managed Online Backup installations in Pending Actions dialog
  • BUGFIX: Resolve “Script not found” error in reboot script
  • BUGFIX: Allow Minimum and Maximum Instances to be edited correctly in Process Check dialog
  • BUGFIX: Remove trailing white space from Critical Events Exclusions list to ensure that all exclusions are applied as intended
  • BUGFIX: Do not include Linux Servers in device filter for Critical Event Exclusions
  • BUGFIX: Display correct labels in Extra Information column for Linux Daemon Check
  • BUGFIX: Display failure reason in Extra Information column for Linux File System Change Check
  • BUGFIX: Display appropriate error message in Extra Information column for Linux File System Change Check when invalid path is entered
  • BUGFIX: Display link to Manage User Scripts dialog when adding a Script Check to Linux server and no user defined Linux scripts exist
  • BUGFIX: Ensure that Managed Antivirus and Managed Online Backup checks manually added after feature is enabled are not charged for
  • BUGFIX: Do not allow checks that are automatically added as part of Managed Antivirus and Managed Online Backup feature to be removed
