The team is very happy to announce the availability of SolarWinds Backup version 19.9, with significant new capabilities for backing up Microsoft Office 365, a new format for API-based column codes, and more granular storage usage data.
Backup for Office 365 SharePoint now available in beta
Office 365 SharePoint online data protection is available as a beta feature for all customers using the Backup standalone edition or N-Central integrated version 12.1 and above. There is no charge for this additional functionality until it becomes generally available later this year. Additional new capabilities include:
- Security officers can restore data from unlicensed Office 365 Exchange mailboxes to a licensed mailbox.
- Donut charts in the standalone web-based console now reflect all protected data sources and domains: servers, workstations, and Office 365 instances. This makes it simple to filter and view backup status on only Office 365.
- Retention of Office 365 OneDrive data has increased from six months to one year. Retention of SharePoint data is also one year, and Exchange data can be retained up to seven years.
New format for API-based column codes
We are pleased to announce a new format for our API-based column codes. This expanded format will allow us to continue to add new data sources. Legacy codes are listed side-by-side for convenience, and will continue to work for the time being. Customers are advised to update their column codes to reflect the new format for the best results.
More detailed reporting data
MSPs using the standalone edition of SolarWinds Backup can now see historical usage data at the end customer level, providing more granular insight on usage trends across their customers. In addition, MSPs using the software-only version of SolarWinds Backup can now see storage usage statistics at the end customer level.
